Our Story | Building an underwear brand for guys with range
Most of us grew up wearing briefs. Just like dad. And his dad before him.
Then came puberty—and the locker room. Before long, we were in boxers or boxer briefs. Not because we loved them (maybe we did), but because that’s just what guys did.
Fast forward, and here we are—still wearing the same pairs. And very possibly a pair you just adjusted that's riding up for the 12th time today.
Is there something better out there? Probably.
But who has the time, money, or patience to figure it out?
So we started testing
When Switchpack was nothing more than an idea, we spent five years testing 50+ pairs of underwear.
We started with the classics—Calvin Klein, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, 2(X)IST. Mostly boxer briefs. Some trunks. A few briefs.
Then came the athletic brands—Nike, Adidas, Lululemon, Under Armour—chasing performance and sweat-wicking.
Next up were the DTC brands: MeUndies, Mack Weldon, SAXX, Tommy John—those $30 boxer briefs every guy sees in an ad promising to "change your life."
We tried niche brands from Europe and Australia. The everyday basics: Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Jockey. Even some wackier stuff too.
So what did we learn?
No pair is perfect for every day.
The underwear that keeps you dry on a five-mile run won’t be the one you reach for when you’re lounging on the couch.
But we also learned that every pair has a purpose. You just need the right one for the right day.
That’s why we built Switchpack
A brand inspired by the simple idea that your underwear drawer should look like the rest of your closet. A few different styles. A few different fabrics.
All designed to meet the day you’re having.
Switchpack.
